Marilyn joined RiverVest shortly after its founding. In her role as Controller, Marilyn manages and has oversight of the daily financial recording and reporting aspects of the various RiverVest entities. She serves as the contact person regarding tax issues and financial reporting to the Private Limited Partners, the General Partners, the SBA and various outside entities such as banks, local, state and federal oversight agencies, and other third parties, as necessary. She also serves as the contact person for portfolio company reporting and information gathering.
Prior to joining RiverVest, Marilyn spent several years in public accounting with Coopers & Lybrand, LP (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and as a consultant for a national oversight organization. She has also taught accounting and business-related classes at the college and university level.
Marilyn serves as Treasurer and Board Member of When the Saints, a not-for-profit which works with local police in the country of Malawi, Africa, providing a safe home for young girls who have been victims of sex trafficking and sexual abuse. She is also a Board Member of Harvest Initiative, a not-for-profit providing education and clean water to indigenous Miskito and Spanish-speaking communities in remote areas of Nicaragua. Marilyn is also an adjunct professor at St. Louis Christian College.
A CPA, Marilyn earned an M.B.A. in Finance from Indiana University and a B.S. from Butler University. Her professional affiliations include the MSCPA, CIMA and the AICPA.
Personal Interests: travel, playing the piano, yoga, book club, choir, and various activities with her children and grandchildren
