ST. LOUIS, MO (September 1, 2020) – Life science venture capital firm RiverVest has expanded its team with additions to the analyst and marketing & communications teams.

RiverVest’s newest analyst, Andrew Kleiboeker joined the firm in June. Kleiboeker performs financial analysis for portfolio company financings. He also supports the team’s efforts in performing due diligence and exploring new market opportunities. Kleiboeker earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis with a double major in finance and supply chain management, and a minor in math. He was the recipient of the Powell Niland Prize which is awarded to the graduate with the strongest academic achievement in the areas of operations and manufacturing management.

Kleiboeker joins Curtis Rother, who joined RiverVest in July 2017 following a summer internship at the firm. As senior analyst since 2019, Rother performs financial analysis in connection with portfolio company financings and M&A transactions. He has also been instrumental in conducting due diligence on potential portfolio companies and supporting the operational activities of current portfolio companies. Curtis earned a B.S. in accounting and finance from Indiana University.

“RiverVest recognizes the importance of strong financial analysis in assessing potential investment opportunities and structuring deals,” said Rother. “I am excited to have Andrew on our team.”

Moreover, in a newly created position following the firm’s 2020 rebranding project that resulted in a new logo, refreshed messaging, and a newly redesigned website, Sara Mesiano joined RiverVest in August as marketing & communications specialist to develop and execute the firm’s marketing and communications plans. Mesiano works collaboratively with a broad range of constituents while playing a significant role in developing and promoting RiverVest’s messages. She is a 2020 Venture for America fellow who earned a B.A. in environmental policy from Washington University in St. Louis, with double minors in writing and computer science.

“RiverVest’s strength lies in our people and we are committed to their development and maintaining a firm culture where each is expected to be transparent, strategic, dependable, results-driven, collaborative, and grounded in purpose,” said Jay Schmelter, RiverVest co-founder and managing director. “Our focus on our team and adding new talent positions RiverVest well for today and tomorrow. Both Andrew and Sara are great additions to our team.”
